Meditate Day and night

A Practical Insight into having a Relationship with God

About The Book

This book aims at providing a practical insight into perfecting holiness in the fear of the Lord by meditating on the word of God.

We need to cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and the spirit, and perfect holiness, for we are the temple of the living God. We have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

We need to enter into the holiest of holies, where deep calls unto deep in meditating on the word, where we can commune with God, in the cool of the day and at the darkest hour of the night. At all times, the light of God will shine and darkness will not be able to comprehend it. We will be illuminated by the glory of God….

….To get to the holiest of holies, we need to go through the outer court, where we have the altar and the laver as a place of cleansing. This is the place for sacrifice, where we present our bodies as a living sacrifice; we die to self and ask for more of Jesus and less of us – with the Sea of Glass before us. As we hear and read the word of God, God will continue to cleanse us from the inside out, and we will, continue to guard our senses our; eyes, ears, nose, hands and mouth.

The Bible is like a door, which leads us into the presence of God. Behind that door are great spiritual treasures. But we must have the key to unlock the door or we will never be able to enter in and explore these treasures. The Bible reveals how we can understand God’s Word. It provides the key to unlock the door to spiritual understanding.

Chapter 1

THE PERSON

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Person

A person is a human being, one having a living soul, existing in a body and having a spirit. A person is also referred to as “Man” in the scriptures. A person who has received the baptism of the Holy Spirit also has the Holy Spirit (see John 14:17 “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”).

Types of People

The Bible describes three kinds of people, the natural man, the spiritual man and the carnal man in 1 Corinthians 2:14-3:4.

The Natural Man

The natural man does not understand the things of the spirit, because he is spiritually discerned. The natural man has not received Christ and is mainly controlled by his soul (mind, will and emotions). Everything the natural man does is mainly affected by his reasoning, memory, imagination, conscience and affections.

In verse 14 of 1 Corinthians chapter 2 the Bible tells us that “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
